<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method capable of recovering energy from dilute methanol obtained from methane by a microorganism reaction without needing its high-rate concentration. <P>SOLUTION: This power generation system is provided with: a methanol manufacturing device; a direct methanol fuel cell; and a methanol transfer part for transferring methanol obtained from the methanol manufacturing device to the direct methanol fuel cell. The methanol manufacturing device includes: a vapor-phase bioreactor composed by filling a vessel with a carrier with methane assimilating bacteria and a culture solution retained; a material gas supply part for supplying a material gas containing methane to the bioreactor; and a methanol recovery part for recovering methanol discharged from the bioreactor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
