<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease manufacturing stages of a translucent type color liquid crystal display element. <P>SOLUTION: The translucent type color liquid crystal display element has one side transparent substrate 10 a color filter formed by arranging color elements R, G, and B of the different primary colors successively in stripes, forming light transmission display part 12 and light reflection display parts 11, formed by forming full reflecting mirrors on a diffusion layer 11a, by the color elements R, G, and B along the stripes of the color elements R, G, and B, and forming a light blocking film 11c which shields gaps between transparent electrodes formed on the other transparent substrate from light across the color elements R, G, and B.
