PURPOSE: A method for automatically controlling an angle of a satellite antenna for vehicles is provided to reduce a cost of a satellite antenna angle controlling apparatus by calculating the azimuth and elevation angles of the antenna with the angle between the vehicle and a satellite. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal and a vertical sensor are sequentially initialized when a power is supplied to a receiver(15). A current position of the vehicle is detected. A current azimuth angle and a current elevation angle of a satellite antenna are detected. An amount to be compensated is calculated. An azimuth angle of the antenna(3) is adjusted by using a driving motor(13). A carrier frequency of a signal received via the antenna which has adjusted azimuth and elevation angles. The azimuth and elevation angles are finely controlled when a reception characteristic is not maximized. When the reception characteristic is maximized, the azimuth and elevation angles of the antenna are stored.
