PURPOSE: A lasso is provided to achieve improved accuracy of mapping of electro-physiological properties of the heart of a patient. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for electrically mapping a pulmonary vein of a heart, comprises a catheter(20). The catheter includes a curved portion and a base portion. The curved portion has a single coil position sensor, and one or more electrodes for measuring electrical properties of the pulmonary vein of a patient(46). The base portion has a distal end attached to a proximal end of the curved section, and includes a multi-coil position sensor arranged within 3mm of the distal end. |
