<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize contents reproduction with higher quality without depending upon the storage capacity of a required medium in reproducing contents data of the same materials, for example, in a portable reproducing device that reproduces the required medium storing the contents data. <P>SOLUTION: In a contents reproduction system consisting of the reproducing device for reproducing a medium storing at least contents data, and of a server device connected to the reproducing device through a required network, a storing means of the server device stores contents data of the same materials as those of the contents data stored in the medium. The reproducing device side switches reproduction of contents from the medium and reproduction of contents received from the server device in accordance with a connection state to the server device through the network. If contents data at a reproduction rate higher than that of the contents data stored in the medium are stored in the storing means at this time, contents reproduction with higher quality is realized without depending upon the storage capacity of the medium at the time of the reproduction of contents of the same material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
