A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved efficiency of address discharge by forming a low resistance section in an address electrode such that the low resistance section corresponds to the scan electrode of the discharge sustain electrode. A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(26) and a second substrate(32); a plurality of address electrodes(22) formed on the first substrate; a dielectric layer(28) formed on the first substrate such that the dielectric layer covers the address electrodes; barrier ribs(20) formed on the dielectric layer so as to define a discharge space; a phosphor layer(30) formed in the discharge space; a plurality of discharge sustain electrodes(24) arranged on the surface of the second substrate opposed to the first substrate, in the direction perpendicular to the address electrodes; and a dielectric layer(34) formed on the second substrate such that the dielectric layer covers the discharge sustain electrodes. The address electrode includes a first electrode portion(22a) having a predetermined resistance value, and a second electrode portion(22b) having a resistance value smaller than that of the first electrode portion. The second electrode portion is connected to the first electrode portion in correspondence to the discharge sustain electrode. |
