PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widened sidewalk structure which facilitates construction of a widened sidewalk for an existing bridge without imposing a large load on the existing bridge, and has improved durability. SOLUTION: According to the widened sidewalk structure, main girders and crossbeams overhang sideways from an upper surface of the existing bridge having concrete girders in parallel with a bridge axial direction, in a manner protruding an aluminum alloy floor slab for the widened sidewalk. It is preferred that a strut is diagonally arranged between a longitudinal girder fixed onto a lower surface of an overhanging portion on one side of the aluminum alloy floor slab for the widened sidewalk, and a lower portion of the main girder of the existing bridge, and that struts are horizontally erected between lower portions of the plurality of main girders. It is also preferred that an aluminum alloy for use in the aluminum alloy floor slab is formed of waste material of used aluminum products, particularly recycled material from used aluminum alloy guard fences (recycled aluminum alloy), because of the excellence of the recycled aluminum alloy in strength, corrosion resistance, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
