<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved friction material having reliable and improved properties as compared with conventional friction materials, and particularly provide a friction material having improved "quaking proof", "hot spot" resistance, high heat resistance, high stability and durability, and high strength. <P>SOLUTION: The friction material has curable resins uniformly dispersed therein across the entire fibrous substrate with a high fiber content.
