<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen display system and a screen display method that can save communication cost and can rewrite a screen shortly by reducing the data volume of screen display data sent from a server. <P>SOLUTION: Screen display data sent from the server to a terminal comprise an ID code (pattern ID) indicating a specific display form, and character or image data attached to the display form specified by the ID code.
