BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY OF LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the backlight assembly of a liquid crystal display to minimize decrease in luminance while keeping the view field angle of light by simplifying the structure of the backlight assembly.

SOLUTION: The backlight assembly of a liquid crystal display includes: a lamp to emit light; a light guide plate disposed in a lamp side to guide light; and a diffusing sheet and a prism sheet disposed above the light guide plate so as to improve the efficiency of light exiting from the light guide plate. The prism sheet is composed of a main part where diffused light through the diffusing sheet enters and a large number of protrusions like triangular prisms each having an scalene cross section with base angles different from each other, the large number of the protrusions being linearly arranged on the main part.
