<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing a siloxane bond-containing polymer, with which the siloxane bond-containing polymer is more safely decomposed at a low cost, in the decomposition, the siloxane bond is preferentially decomposed and an alcohol in a small amount as much as possible is used so that material recycle for returning the polymer to a polymer having approximately the same molecular weight distribution of the polymer before crosslinking is carried out. <P>SOLUTION: The decomposition method comprises packing pellets 7 of the siloxane bond-containing polymer to a high-pressure vessel 1, bringing a mixture of carbon dioxide or nitrogen being a noncombustible substance and an alcohol into contact with the pellets under heating and selectively decomposing the siloxane bond of the siloxane bond-containing polymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
