PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cell culture basis that is used for attaching cells on the base material in a high definition pattern and culturing them.

SOLUTION: This method for producing cell culture basis comprises the base plate forming step for patterning where a cell culture patterning layer that can form the cell attaching areas that attaches cells on the base material and the cell attachment-inhibiting areas that prevent cells from attaching by the photocatalytic action, when energy is radiated, the energy-radiating step where the layer for cell culture patterned is radiated with energy to form the cell-attaching areas and the cell attachment inhibitory areas in patterns by the photocatalytic action caused by the energy radiation, and the cell-including solution-coating step where the cell-including solution is coated on the cell-attaching areas in the patterned cell-attaching areas by the site-selective coating method.
