<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely conduct water stopping operation of a branching pipe even though a gate valve becomes unable to close it. <P>SOLUTION: A water stopping device 8 comprises a water stopping plug 9 having a male screw section 13 capable of engaged with a female screw 6 on an inner peripheral surface of the branching pipe 4 and a hollow hole opening to a pointed end face of the male screw section 13 and a drain hole 19 interconnected with the hollow hole and opening to an outer peripheral face at its rear end, a water guard cover 10 detachably mounted so as to surround front and rear external peripheral surfaces of the water stopping plug 9 with designated spaces, and a water stopping cap 11 mounted so as to tightly seal the drain hole 19 at the rear end of the water stopping plug 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
