<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber collating method and a coated optical fiber collator for enhancing work efficiency and keeping down a product cost. <P>SOLUTION: A projection part 2 or a recess part 3 is equipped with a light receiving element 10 for receiving leak light while the projection part 2 or the recess part 3 is equipped with a hollow part 4 in its interior. This hollow part 4 is equipped at least with an opening part 8d opening at a position confronting the receiving element 10, first and second light intakes 8a and 8b opening in an optical fiber on both the right and left sides of the opening part 8d, first and second light guide means 5 and 6 for guiding the leak light taken in from the light intakes 8a and 8b to the receiving element 10, and an interception means 7a for intercepting the leak light taken in from one light intake. Therefore, transmission direction determination or core collation detection can be performed by using the single receiving element 10 by one time of measurement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
