<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular steering characteristic control device adequately (in just proportion) controlling the vehicular behavior on the steering characteristic according to the turning kind and the condition of the road surface. <P>SOLUTION: The control completion condition when the vehicular steering characteristic is controlled to the neutral steering side by the control of a braking mechanism if the steering characteristic is over-steering or under-steering above the standard is set according to the estimatedμcondition of the road surface and the turning kind of the vehicle (the stationary turn or the non-stationary turn). In the stationary rotation, the condition is established so that the stability of the vehicular behavior is sufficiently restored in the traveling on a lowμroad, the condition is established so that the stability of the vehicular behavior is restored to some extent so as to rapidly complete the control in the traveling on a highμroad, or the condition in a non-stationary rotation is established so that the stability of the vehicular behavior is higher than that in the stationary rotation while traveling on a highμroad, but not higher than that in the stationary rotation while traveling on a lowμroad. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
