<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction-indicating device which saves a space as much as possible, and easily and surely indicates a direction. <P>SOLUTION: The direction-indicating device is provided with; a pointing device part (a fingerprint input part) 7 which inputs fingerprints; a fingerprint registration part 5 which preliminarily registers fingerprints as reference fingerprints; a fingerprint identification part 4 which compares the inputted fingerprints with the reference fingerprints preliminarily registered with the fingerprint registration part 5 in association with the inputted fingerprints and detects the matching parts of the inputted fingerprints and the reference fingerprints; and a control part (CPU) 1 which determines a direction to be indicated based on the result of the detection by the fingerprint identification part 4. The control part 1 detects the variation directions (upward, downward, right or left directions) of the parts of the inputted fingerprints and the reference fingerprints matching each other, and makes the variation directions the indications of directions with the fingers. When the matching parts of the inputted fingerprints and the reference fingerprints are the center parts of both fingerprints, the control part 1 determines the presence or absence of clicking input ("clicking" or "stopping inputting") based on the increase or decrease in the sizes of the areas of the matching parts. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
