<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum insulator, decreasing heat bridge of a contour member while securing air shut-off performance to attain more excellent thermal insulation performance. <P>SOLUTION: This vacuum insulator is composed of: an outer casing body 12 formed by joining two sheets of contour members 13 made of metal foil 15 at least to form a sealed container and put in the vacuum state by discharging the air in the interior; and a filler 17 stored in the outer casing body 12 and having thermal insulation property.
