<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston variable displacement compressor to reduce the pressure change at a variable displacement without lowering the performance at the maximum displacement. <P>SOLUTION: A cylindrical member 22 of a rotary valve 21 has a main suction port 23 to ensure the flow rate at the maximum displacement and a subsidiary suction port 24 to throttle the flow rate sufficient to suppress the pressure change at a variable displacement. A spool 25 to accept the suction chamber pressure at the front face, and to accept the crank pressure at the rear face in the cylindrical member 22 at the rear face is movably arranged in the axial direction. At the maximum, the spool 25 is retreated with the suction gas flow to fully open both the main suction port 23 and the subsidiary suction port 24. At the variable displacement, the spool 25 is advanced with the differential pressure between the suction chamber pressure and the crank pressure to close the main suction port 23, leaving the subsidiary suction port 24 opened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
