<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely restart an engine, by stopping a piston in a proper position when automatically stopping the engine with a simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: This engine starter is constituted so as to automatically stop the engine when realizing an automatic stopping condition of the engine, and to automatically restart the engine by performing ignition and combustion by injecting fuel into cylinders 12A to 12D automatically stopped in at least an expansion stroke when realizing a restarting condition of the engine. The engine starter is provided with an alternator 28 driven by the engine, and an automatic stopping control means (ECU 2) for setting an engine speed of the engine to a value higher than an ordinary idle speed when stopping fuel injection when automatically stopping the engine, and setting a target power generation current of the alternator 28 to a value corresponding to a reduction state of the engine speed until the engine speed of the engine reduces to a preset predetermined value or less in a stopping operation period of the engine after stopping the fuel injection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
