A water washable parasiticide composition is disclosed which is suitable for use as a pour on composition for controlling parasite infestation on animals such as sheep or cattle, wherein the composition comprises a combination of an insect growth regulator IGR (such as triflumuron, fluazuron, cyromazine or methoprene(, a macrocyclic lactone (such as avermectin, ivermectin, abamectin, doramectin or milbemycins), a surfactant, an organic solvent and optionally a synthetic pyrethroid to provide a broad spectrum of activity against mature/immature lice and helminthes. Water washability is achieved by basing the composition on an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of glycols, glycol ethers, glycol ether acetate, C1-C8 alkyl pyrrolidones, butyrolactones, aliphatic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and mixtures thereof together with a surfactant.
