A method and a device for generating carbonated water, wherein pressure-regulated carbon dioxide gas is supplied from a high-pressure carbon dioxide gas cylinder (2) to a pressure vessel (1) and water from a water tank (3) is sprayed in the gas phase area of the pressure vessel (1) to dissolve the carbon dioxide gas in the water under pressure so as to produce carbonated water. The carbonated water is discharged from the bottom of the pressure vessel (1) through a discharge pipe (7). The carbonated water discharge pipe (7) comprises a restrictor and a pressure reducing mechanism (8), whereby the state of the carbonated water of a specified level stored at the bottom of the pressure vessel (1) can be maintained.
