PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner having an inexpensive and simple structure in which the light quantity distribution on a face to be scanned is uniformized. SOLUTION: An overfilled optical system is composed in such a way that four laser beams emitted from a laser light source 10 in which four light sources are arranged in line in a subscanning direction are made incident on a polygon mirror 28 via a collimator lens 12, a slit 14, a first cylindrical lens 16, a first reflection mirror 18, a second reflection mirror 20, a second cylindrical lens 22, a filter 24, and a third cylindrical lens 26. In this optical system, the angle between an incident optical axis L and a scanning optical axis Ls is set to be 65 degrees, the incident optical axis L is moved by a predetermined distance toward an fθ30 lens side, and the optical axis is adjusted for uniformizing light quantity.
