<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably inform an operator that a photographing mode is inappropriate. <P>SOLUTION: A film unit 2 with a lens has a first photographing mode to obtain an optimum exposure light quantity when an object is bright, and a second photographing mode to obtain an optimum exposure light quantity when an object is dark. If the second photographing mode is selected although the object is bright, or if the first photographing mode is selected although the object is dark, an LED 86 mounted in a finder 6 is turned on to inform an operator that the selected photographing mode is inappropriate. As the LED 86 is disposed to protrude in the optical path of the finder connecting an eyepiece lens 2 and an object lens 94, the LED has high visibility.
