Embodiments of the present invention provide a communication establishment method, including: sending, by a first device, a query message to a server according to a second user identifier; sending, by the server to the first device according to the query message, a session menu that includes at least one communication capability of a user corresponding to the second user identifier; sending, by the first device, a communication establishment message to the server according to the session menu, where the communication establishment message includes information about the selected at least one communication capability; and establishing, by the server according to the selected at least one communication capability, communication between the first device and the user corresponding to the second user identifier; or establishing, by the first device according to the selected at least one communication capability, communication with the user corresponding to the second user identifier. |
