The fibres are have an ethylene terephthalate component of at least 85 (pref. 95) mole % and are formed with primary crimp of 7-10 loops per 25 mm and a secondary crimp of 1.5-2.0 loops per 25 mm. The degree of crimp of the secondary crimp is at least 30% and the elasticity is at least 70%. The inner channel may be circular or triangular in cross section and may constitute 10-30% of the volume.
