<p>Protective film envelopes are manufactured on prods. such as cheeses by a coating process. The envelopes have at least two cords with a corresponding crossing point; the cords are buried in the coating and serve to divide the cheeses into detachable sectors. These can be removed in succession for immediate consumption whilst keeping the remainder of the envelope intact, thus preserving its protective properties. The cords are applied in a fixed gripping device and the prod. is maintained in suspension by the cords and conveyed to a coating tank where it receives a wax coating. The coating bath is heated by an electric resistance and the contents circulated by a pump.</p> |
