<p>1327029 Knitting-machines COURTAULDS Ltd 22 Dec 1970 [23 Dec 1969] 62518/69 Heading D1C In a flat-bed machine a movable stop block 17 defining one end limit of the traverse of a yarn carrier 8 movable on a rail 6 is attached to a slide 14 movable by the cam box along a second rail 7. When the stop block 17 is in the position shown, the carrier moves on a short traverse between stops 12 and 17, -see Figs. 3C, 3D-so that a narrow fabric is knitted. A second narrow fabric is knit with a carrier 34 traversing between slide 14 and stop block 18. When a full width section is knit, the slide 14 is moved adjacent stop 18 so that the traverse of carrier 8 is lengthenedsee Figs. 3A, 3B. The outer carrier is out of action between slide 14 and stop 18. The slide, which is a carrier without a guide eye, is either releasably clamped to the rail 7 or has a high frictional resistance relative to it.</p> |
