1. A method of transmitting data, the method comprising:
transmitting, on one or more payload channels, compressed payload packets; and transmitting, on a header restoration channel, header restoration packets for restoring headers of at least some of the compressed payload packets, wherein the header restoration packets comprise:
packet identification data identifying a compressed payload packet, wherein the packet identification data includes one or more digests computed from all or part of the identified compressed payload packet, and wherein the one or more digests include a digest computed over a first part of the identified compressed payload packet and a digest computed over a second part of the identified compressed payload packet, wherein the first part comprises a smaller amount of data than the second part; andheader restoration data for restoring a header of the identified compressed payload packet. |
