METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING NAVAL CONFIGURATIONS THROUGH EVALUATION OF OPERATIONAL AND DESIGN PARAMETERS

A method for identifying naval configurations through evaluation of operational and design parameters, comprising the following steps:
S1) Identification of the parameters or operational needs that the ship must meet;
S2) Configuration of the operating scenario(s) in which the ship will operate, by assigning and/or changing physical parameters and other attribute of the ship;
S3) Definition of the design parameters subjected to simulation based on the results of the previous scenario configuration step;
S4) Execution of simulation campaigns and obtaining data regarding the effectiveness of several naval configurations in the previously defined scenario;
S5) Analysis of the results of the simulation campaigns in terms of operational effectiveness with respect to each configuration set of design parameters;
S6) Statistical analysis of the results and possible definition of surrogate models of naval configurations and obtaining data to be used for the next step of critical analysis of the parameters of the configurations;
S7) Combination of the results of steps S5) and S6) and identification of any critical design parameters;
S8) Definition of possible alternative naval configurations;
S9) Performance analysis of said previously identified naval configurations;
S10) Comparative analysis of the previously identified and analysed naval configurations.
