<p>1350307 Variable capacitors MATSUSHITA ELECTRIC INDUSTRIAL CO Ltd 26 Oct 1971 [30 Oct 1970] 49785/71 Heading H1M A variable capacitor comprises a frame 12 having a cut-out 13 in one side wall to provide a bearing portion, a rotor shaft 15 having a bearing 14 and carrying rotor blades 16 co-operating with stator blades 17, the bearing 14 being pushed into engagement with the bearing portion of the frame by means of a screw (24) (Fig. 8, not shown) acting on the shaft at the other side wall of frame 12. The cut-out 13 may be key-hole shaped (Fig. 4, not shown). The bearing 14 may comprise a race (21), ball bearings (22), the race having a flange which bears on the wall surrounding the cut-out 13 and balls (22) being located in a groove in the shaft when the bearing is in position (Fig. 5, not shown). The capacitor may be assembled using a jig on which the rotor shaft with its bearing and rotor blades are placed, together with the stator blades (Figs. 6, 7, not shown). Then frame 12 is lowered into place, the screw for pushing the shaft into position is inserted and finally plates 18 which connect selected stator plates in groups are connected to terminals 20.</p> |
