DNA extracted from animal organs in the form of alkali salts is partially degraded by dissolving in HSO, heating the soln. at 60-90 degrees C in the presence of a proton-releasing substance (pref. acetic acid) at pH 5-7, neutralising, and pptg. the DNA by heating with a liq. non-solvent for DNA. The DNA alkali salts are converted from a highly viscous soln. into a soln. having optimal viscosity (1.25-1.80 cP) for therapeutic use without destroying the therapeutic activity.
|
