1339299 Castors HAPPE & CO 30 Dec 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 60650/71 Heading A4U [Also in Division B7] A castor wheel comprises a wheel body surrounded by a ring 3 of rubber or like material, and a ring 4 of hard material surrounding and compressing the ring 3, the ring 4 being removable by severing it at the point 5 to convert the wheel from one usable on a carpeted floor surface to one usable on concrete or parquet floors. The ring 4, preferably of polyamide and having an insert strip of metal to protect the ring 3 from a severing tool, is forced over the ring 3, which in unstressed state has the same external diameter as the ring 4, and body and rim parts 1, 1', 2, 2' are forced into the ring 3 and snapengaged with each other, so that the ring 3 is urged outwardly and the ring 4 stressed. The ring 4 may be made of wood or paper. |
