Seeds of grasses and clovers may be sown with the annual seeds. The colloid may be an alkali-metal silicate and/or silica gel with a pH in the range 3.5 to 8. The colloid may be stabilized by additives e.g. gelatine, polyacrylates &c. Nutrients e.g. phosphates, nitrogen and potassium salts together with colloidal substances e.g. bentonite, peat, and sewage sludge may also be added. |
