1309047 Automatic Speed control SOC FRANCAISE DE MOTEURS INDUCTION 19 April 1971 [27 Jan 1970 17 June 1970 15 Sept 1970] 20375/71 Heading G3R A power motor 2 is caused to move at the same speed as a step by step pilot motor 1 by the output signal of an amplifier 6 which is fed with a voltage dependant upon the response of a sensing means 3 for sensing the difference between the angles of rotation of the coupled shafts for the two motors 1, 2. The sensing means may be a differential gear unit whose outer casing 4 only moves when the shafts of the two motors rotate at different speeds. The speed difference may be converted to a voltage signal by a potentiometer 5. Alternatively the sensing means may be a "synchro", a screw and nut arrangement acting on a strain gauge, a magnetically sensitive device in a permanent magnet circuit, a device responsive to pressure differences due to relative rotation of parts or to relative displacement of a photo-electric cell and a light sorce Figs. 5, 4, 6, 7 and 8 (not shown). |
