PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a head of an occupant in a variety of collision conditions of a vehicle.SOLUTION: An occupant protection device 10 for a vehicle has a shield member 12 which is electrically driven at the prediction of a collision of the vehicle 14, and deployed to the inside of a cabin of at least one window 20A, 20B, 22A, 22B and 28 of a vehicle side part 16 and a vehicle rear part 18. The occupant protection device further has a curtain airbag and a side airbag in the cabin of the shield member 12 while receiving the supply of a gas at the collision, and the shield member 12 is deployed at timing earlier than that of the expansion deployment of the airbags.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
