<p>1326468 Drawing and crimping filaments SPINNER OY 2 Aug 1971 [9 July 1971] 36209/71 Heading D1F In a method of drawing and crimping an artificial filament 1, the filament is fed from a feed device 2 to a drawing device 3, and drawn therebetween, is heated to plastic condition in an oven 4 in which the inlet and outlet are at the same end and whilst in a plastic state is false twisted by device 7, and is then fed back to the drawing device 3 before being wound up on device 8. The drawing ratio is controlled by the relative speeds of feed and draw rolls 2 and 3, and the tension in the filament in the heating oven 4 having an inlet and outlet at one end thereof and a filament guide 5 at the other end is controlled by an auxiliary roll 6 positioned between the oven 4 and the false twister 7. The auxiliary roll 6 is adjustable in respect of the angular position of its axis. The false twister 7 is preferably a ring rotated about its axis. In a preferred embodiment, a roller 5 is positioned in the oven 4 whereby the filament is reversed in direction to enter and leave the oven at the same end.</p> |
