发明名称 CRIMPING OF TEXTILE STRANDS
摘要
1317074 Crimping filaments; thread guides and tensioners TECHNISERVICE CORP 8 Dec 1971 [25 Jan 1971 30 Aug 1971] 57090/71 Headings DID and D1F A textile strand is compressively crimped by lengthwise propulsion and impingement against a "solid" or continuous surface to cause the strand to buckle into a crimped configuration and the crimped strand is accumulated temporarily adjacent, and is at least partially supported by, a moving foraminous surface. In the operation of the apparatus shown, previously e.g. false-twist crimped, or uncrimped strand withdrawn from a supply e.g. a package 12 or a spinneret (not shown) passes through guide 13, around idler roll 14, through the successive nips of driven advancing rollers 17, 17' and 18, 18', (between which drawing of the strand may be effected) and is guided into a branch inlet of a jet 20 supplied with propulsion fluid e.g. air, heated air, steam, by a pump 5 through rigid and flexible lines 6 leading to the main inlet tube of the jet wherein the strand is entrained by the fluid and carried through the jet outlet into a rotating crimping chamber 30, Fig. 3, wherein it impinges against an impervious wall 32 and forms an accumulation 11' against the foraminous cylindrical serum 33 and is withdrawn as crimped strand 11" through the central opening 35 and perhaps a gap between the wall 34 and an annular portion of a tension ring fitting therewithin, Fig. 8 (not shown) or by passage between a pair of tapered withdrawal rollers which also stabilise the position of strand 11" withdrawal, Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown). The strand in the chamber may be heated or further heated by the propulsion fluid or additional fluid or by radiant heat. The withdrawn strand passes through a stabilisation chamber wherein dry or moist heating may occur with the strand relaxed, then through guide 42, over a driven wind-up roll 43 onto a package carried on a weight loaded swing arm 45. The various speed ratios between apparatus components may be fixed, as shown, by belt and pulley drives derived from a motor 10, or may be adjustable e.g. by means of continuously variable drive linkages or variable stepped pairs of pulleys.
