<p>Dextro-rotatory (+) has hypotensive activity and is prepd. by separation from the corresponding racemate by standard methods. The racemate being (a) converted to salts either with optically active bases, pref. alpha-phenylethylamine, alpha-(1-naphthyl)-ethylamine, quinine, cinchonidine or brucine, or with optically active acids, esp. camphorsulphonic acid; and (b) the (+)- diastereoisomer being separated from the salt mixt. by fractional crystallisation of chromatography using an optically active carrier or treatment with a microorganism. The sepn. is followed by the opt. release of free amino acid.</p> |
