Method and apparatus for measuring the peak power performance of a pulsed microwave power device as a unit-under-test, in which there is provided means for driving the unit-under-test with a constant power-level, swept-frequency source of RF energy as an applied input, and in which there is also provided means for pulse modulating the applied input. There is further provided means responsive to the time-averaged power output, pulse repetition rate and pulse width of the pulse modulated unit-under-test for indicating the peak power output thereof.
