The thermoplastics material is preferably plasticised and may be polyethylene, p.v.c., polymeric (meth)acrylates, polyurethanes or polyamides. Plasticisers are normally included and many conventional plasticisers are listed. Other additives which may be added to the thermoplastics material are stabilisers including zinc and cadmium complexes, and Pb, Sn, Ba/Cd and Ca/Zn complexes and soaps The heated plating press may be capable of exerting up to 100 atmospheres. When p.v.c. is used as the coating, a primer layer of an aqueous dispersion containing p.v.c. is first applied. |
