<p>Car wash procedure involves application of washing liquid by a spray by moving the car in relation to the applicator unit. The carbody contours are scanned by the machine and the result is used to steer the spray starting from a bottom position, working up and forwards and finally backwards until the spray returns to a position behind its starting point. The spray is then moved forward into this initial position to complete the cycle. Scanning should be effected by outer and inner sensors, of which the inner sensor can move up and down in relation to the outer and can also pivot about an horizontal axis. The scanner head should be mounted on the spray boom which has jets right the way round, these closed selectively depending in their alignment with the car body.</p> |
