<p>The system is designed to allow an element in a fluid circuit to be exchanged for a second element within a period short enough to prevent a significant interruption of flow through the fluid circuit. The system uses a cylindrical passage with axially offset, diametrically opposed inlet and outlet. Within this passage slides a hollow cylinder with closed ends and an inlet and an outlet which are aligned with those of the passage in one axial position. The outside of the cylinder, or the inside of the passage, has three grooves which carry sealing rings which prevent communication between the inlets and outlets except through the inside of the cylinder. A second cylinder is placed over the first and the outlets of the cylinders carry the nozzles, replacement requiring a simple sliding action.</p> |
