The heater assembly, for buildings etc., has each of its heating elements (4) mounted along a support rail (2) whose square cross-section has its walls extended sideways to give four U-shaped channels, one on each wall face. Each channel is capable of accepting one heating element. Multi-way connectors (7') slot into the channels and connect electrically with the ends of the elements. Each connector may have up to five connection points for current-carrying bolts and allows one vertical element to be electrically connected via a short intermediate horizontal rail (15) to another element in an adjacent rail. All elements can therefore be connected in parallel, and the number and location (i.e. in one plane or in two orthogonal planes) of rails can be chosen arbitrarily.
