发明名称 FURNACE VESSEL
摘要
1291537 Foundry ladles MIDLAND-ROSS CORP 23 June 1971 [3 Aug 1970] 29440/71 Heading F4B A vessel for holding and supplying molten metal to a casting mould comprises a pressurizable refractory-walled reservoir 18, filling and pouring spouts 20, 22 extending to points above the level in the reservoir, an inductive heater 28 for supplying heat to the metal in the bottom part of the reservoir, a burner for supplying heat and a protective atmosphere to the top portion 50 of the filling spout and electric heaters 77 for heating the top portion of the pouring spout. The vessel is designed to supply metal to a continuous type chill mould, metal being caused to flow out through spout 22 and snout assembly 70 by pressure of argon or other inert gas applied to the top of the reservoir through pipe 104. The gas valve may be controlled automatically by a sensor to keep the rate of flow constant. The reservoir is repeatedly filled from ladles through spout 20 which is lined with a pre-fired sleeve (Fig. 3, not shown) and is fitted at the top with a removable burner assembly 50. The burner passes through one wall of the assembly 50 at such an angle as to produce a circular air flow. The flame produces an atmosphere comprising 40% of unburnt fuel. The spouts each have a composite refractory and heat-insulating wall and a thin metallic barrier 40 prevents cracks spreading between the spout and the reservoir.
