<p>Twin pivotted arms for supporting and clamping mould tools for an injection/blow moulding machine, where the arms ride on a cradle carried by tie bars between the injection and the blow moulding stations of a two stage machine and the arms are pivotted to open and close the moulds normal to the path from the injection station to the blowing station. Mouldings released by the open tool can be collected by a tray and moved in a simple horizontal projection of the initial injection/blow moulding traverse to other operations, e.g. deflashing, labelling, etc., because the tool support system does not involve any transverse tie bars level with the cavity. Processes with linear movements of the product part are considered simpler and more reliable than processes requiring two or three dimensional product paths.</p> |
