1359382 Railway ballast levelling machines FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN-INDUSTRIE GmbH 24 May 1972 [24 May 1971] 24464/72 Heading E1G In a railway ballast levelling machine two ballast ploughs 8, each overlying a respective rail 1, are mounted beneath a chassis 4 between its front and rear rail-engaging wheels 3, 2 for observation from a cab 5 and cooperate with a middle plough section which can be adjusted independently to close the area between the two ploughs 8. As shown the middle plough section comprises three plough blades 17 pivoted to a central vertically-adjustable shaft 15, the blades 17 being individually angularly adjustable by hydraulic cylinders 18 and collectively rotatable, with their cylinders, through 180‹ by an electric motor 21. Each plough 8 is vertically adjustable, and comprise a tunnel section 12 embracing the rail and carrying fixed front and rear oppositely-inclined plough blades 13 which are aligned with the shaft 15 and to whose outer edges are pivoted side blades 14 hydraulically adjustable about vertical axes. The machine shown is provided at the front with adjustable shoulder ploughs 7 and at the rear with a topping-up ballast discharge unit 11 beneath a storage hopper 6. Excess ballast is removed from the sleepers by brushes 9 and a conveyer 10 feeding the hopper 6. By adjustment of the blades 17, 14, 7 heaped ballast can be distributed as required across the track. In the Fig. 2 adjustment the front blade 17 lies in a central position while the rear blades 17 are aligned with respective blades 14. Alternative adjustments are illustrated in Figs. 3, 4 (not shown).
|
