The bundle is held in a holding ferrule above a forming ferrule with an internal stepped taper formation into which the fibres fall. The tapered end of the fibre bundle so formed is cut off and the fibres are bonded together in the holding ferrule. The cut end is polished and is mounted adjacent a light source which may be of continuously changing . colour.</p> |
