<p>1280564 Storage battery assembly SOC DES ACCUMULATEURS FIXES ET DE TRACTION 25 June 1970 [27 June 1969] 30977/70 Heading H1B A storage battery comprises cells 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP>, Fig. 1, situated in a rack a, the corners of each cell being provided with spacers 5, which ensure lateral and longitudinal wedging of the cells and separation of each cell from its neighbours and from the rack. In Fig. 1, each spacer 5 is held in position by a pin and socket attachment 9, 10 to an insulating disc 6 mounted on the terminal post. The disc 6 may also serve the function of depressing a sealing ring beneath it, sealing the joint between terminal post and cover. One disc may be adapted to anchor two spacers (Fig. 2, not shown). The bottom of each cell may be spaced from the rack by a plate 12, Fig. 3 or 17 (Fig. 5, not shown). The cell casings may be metallic, the spacers 5 and discs 6 polyamide and the plate 12 polypropylene.</p> |
