<p>Separator plate prevents the passage through its holes of those particles, in a suspension, e.g. a paper pulp moving at an angle to the plane of the plate, which have a higher stiffness, smaller surface per unit wt and opt. a greater length tha those particles which should pass through the holes in the plate, on the surface to the plate the edges of the openings, viewed in the direction of flow of the suspension, being lower than the front edges relative to the plane of the plate. Specif. either the downstream edge of teach opening is below the plate surface or the upstream edge is above that surface.</p> |
