The coating may be applied as a paint composition of thermally decomposable compounds of ruthenium, e.g. ruthenium trichloride or ruthenium resinate; tin, germanium and/or antimony, e.g. alkoxides, alkoxyhalides or halides; and organo-compounds of titanium, e.g. alkyl titanate or alkyl halotitanate, and an organic liquid, e.g. pentanol, and thereafter heating to at least 350‹ C in an oxidizing atmosphere to convert the metal compounds to the oxides thereof. The coating may be formed by sequential production of a plurality of such layers.</p> |
